Alternating Hemiplegia. Alternating hemiplegia refers to a form of hemiplegia that has an ipsilateral presentation on one side of the body, and a contralateral presentation on the other side.It occurs when there are proximal effects and distal effects, and the distal effects occur after a decussation.
